•BANKING: The American Bankers Association has hired Tassey & Associates to lobby on payment card issues. Jeffrey Tassey is the only lobbyist listed on the group’s registration with the Senate Office of Public Records.
•ENERGY: American Energy Technologies of Wayne, N.J., has registered J.M. Burkman and Associates to lobby on federal funding for solar power. Jack Burkman is listed to register for the energy firm.
Lathrop and Gage have registered to lobby for the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities, which is seeking federal assistance for infrastructure products, according to Senate records. Lathrop and Gage will also work to support federal legislation and programs to help finance water infrastructure and renewable energy projects. Paul Kalchbrenner and Mike Zito are listed as lobbyists by Lathrop and Gage.
•HEALTHCARE: The Carmen Group has registered to lobby on a specific health care issue by Healthsouth Corp., a healthcare facility in Birmingham, Ala., that focuses on rehabilitation services. Those registered to lobby include Aron Griffin, a former staff member on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. Other lobbyists listed by the Carmen Group are Julia Ehrgood, John Ladd, William Signer and David Thompson.
Walker Martin & Hatch has registered to lobby on Internet pharmacy issues for Phoenix Capital Management LLC, which describes itself as an Internet pharmacy. Jack Martin is the sole lobbyist listed on the registration to the Senate.
