Bush said repeatedly that Obama would have a "tough decision to make when it comes to committing U.S. resources to Syria.
"The president's got a tough choice to make, and if he decides to use our military, he'll have the greatest military ever backing him up," Bush said.
When pressed, Bush declined to say more, sticking with his usual policy of not trying to interfere with current government decisions.
"I know you're trying to subtly rope me in to the issues of the day. I refuse to be roped in."
