"I can be really brief tonight and just say, 'Mitch McConnell sucks,'" Yarmuth said Thursday to group of Democrats at a Jefferson County Democratic Party dinner according to WHAS11.
Also at the dinner, Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes suggested that she was moving closer to jumping into the 2014 Senate race to unseat McConnell.
"Kentucky is tired of 28 years of obstruction and misleading leadership," Grimes said at the dinner.
In response, McConnell's reelection campaign pegged the criticism by Grimes and Yarmuth as "bickering."
"Mitch is focused on fighting for Kentucky, not the bickering and complaining of liberal partisans," McConnell campaign manager Jesse Benton said according to WHAS11.
